It is not resistant to oils, aromatics or aliphatic hydrocarbons. Prysmian Weatherproof Plastic Compound consists of an inert filler dispersed in a plastic base. The compound can be also used for many non-electrical applications whenever a reliable non-hardening moisture or water seal is required. It prevents corrosion of electrical contacts in industrial atmospheres and seals irregular openings, cable entries, screw threads and covers of electrical equipment. Prysmian R391 Electrical Weatherproof Compound It is reddish-brown in colour and withstands temperatures between -20☌ and 80☌. It can be removed by hand when need be which makes it an ideal choice for applications where cables may have to be disconnected at regular intervals.
